Bahawalnagar: Deputy Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon said that on the direction of the Punjab government, practical measures are being taken to ensure the elimination of smog, administrative officers and other relevant departments including the environment department are active throughout the district, during the last decade. 643 complaints were received from different areas, 650 visits were made to the identified 33055 acre area, incidents of crop residue burning were found in 204 acre area, a total of 139 actions were taken to prevent smog. 116 cases were registered against the persons guilty of creating smog while 55 accused were arrested, a total fine of 362500 rupees was imposed. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon further said that elimination of smog from the entire district is our first priority, there is no forgiveness for those who commit the factors that cause smog.
