Quetta, August 26, 2024 – The Women Parliamentary Caucus of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly held a meeting under the chairpersonship of Deputy Speaker Madam Ghazala Gola.
The meeting was attended by members Shahida Rauf, Kulsoom Naz Baloch, Hadia Nawaz, Rahila Hamid Khan Durani, and Safia Fazal. The caucus discussed its rules and regulations to ensure effective collaboration and assigned responsibilities to its members.
Chairperson Ghazala Gola emphasized the need to work beyond party lines for the welfare of women. She proposed establishing sub-committees to assign tasks to members and ensure their commitment to the cause.
The Women Parliamentary Caucus is the only parliamentary body in the Balochistan Assembly dedicated to empowering women through formal legislation. Members unanimously decided to plan an annual calendar and work according to a strategic plan.
The caucus will discuss upcoming bills related to the Women’s Department and ensure the protection of women’s rights. The Women Parliamentary Caucus will continue to advocate for women’s rights and address any violations.
