Sahiwal( )Ms. Rubina Kausar, a lecturer in Economics Department, University of Sahiwal has been awarded prestigious Uma Lele Mentor Fellowship for year 2023 by Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA). Ms Robina kausar is the first Pakistani scholar to be awarded this fellowship since the award began in 2014. Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Javed Akthar congratulated Ms. Rubina Kausar on this fellowship and hoped that it will open new avenues for research scholars of Pakistan. Ms. Rubina Kausar, a Ph.D scholar at NUST Islamabad, will work on disability Earnings, Employment Gap and Household Food Insecurity in Pakistan under the mentorship of Dr. Yvette Zhang, Associate Professor in Texas University, USA.
At NUST Islamabad, Ms. Rubina Kausar is supervised by Dr. Faisal Abbas and Dr. Verda Salman. She has already won the Global Labour Organization (GLO) Virtual Young Scholarship Programme (VirtYS) Fellowship 2022-23 as well and worked with Dr. Suresh Babu of International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) Washington USA.
