WEATHER ALERT: LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM EXPECTED TO ENTER BALOCHISTAN

Quetta, August 25, 2024 – The Regional Meteorological Center has issued a weather alert, predicting a strong low-pressure system to enter the eastern and southern regions of Balochistan.

The system is expected to enter the province by tomorrow evening and may remain in the area for the next week. The low-pressure system may bring heavy rainfall with strong winds to areas including Naseerabad, Kalat, Lasbela, and Loralai.

Additionally, scattered thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are also expected in Harnai, Ziarat, Kachhi, Sibi, Jhal Magsi, and Khuzdar. The heavy rainfall may pose a risk of flash flooding in these areas.

The Regional Meteorological Center has warned of a high risk of flooding in districts including Awaran, Lasbela, Hub, Khuzdar, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Barkhan, Musakhel, Harnai, Kachhi, Ziarat, Jhal Magsi, and Naseerabad.

Low-lying areas in Sibi, Sobatpur, Jaffarabad, and Usta Muhammad may also be affected by flooding.
