QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has expressed pleasure over increase in the number of flights from Quetta to Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
In a statement issued here on Friday, the Governor said that he is pleased to know that PIA is going to increase the number of flights from Quetta to other big cities of the country including Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore as a result of his struggle and wholehearted attention.
He said that the number of flights are being increased to existing four to six between Quetta to Islamabad from September 17, 2024 every week. Similarly, the weekly flights are being increased to four from two for Karachi from Quetta while for Lahore, the flights are being increased from two to three every week.
The Governor maintained that it was in addition to the direct Umrah flights operated from Quetta to Jeddah recently.
He said that we want to connect Quetta with big cities of the country and abroad through continuous flights on cheaper fares, and for the purpose, we are making endeavours.
He said that the basic objective behind his constant coordination with the federal and provincial authorities to provide relief to the people of Balochistan besides reducing the air fares.
The Governor said that the passengers would get double advantage of the launch of flights from Quetta to other big cities of the country.
They would not only get travelling facilities but it would also help save their precious time and energy, the Governor maintained.
He also said that we are determined to make air travel accessible and easier for the people of Balochistan.
