QUETTA: The Advisor to CM Balochistan on Women Development, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi has emphasized that skilled women are beneficial for both society and the economy.
She highlighted that given the changing times, it has become essential for women in Balochistan to acquire unconventional skills. She made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the Women Chamber of Commerce (Quetta District).
The delegation informed her about the challenges faced by women in participating in international and local exhibitions, the need to train disabled women, the importance of e-commerce training for women entrepreneurs in Balochistan, and the funding required for the Chamber’s activities, along with other issues related to women’s welfare.
Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi underscored the significance of participating in national and international handicraft exhibitions. She noted that such events not only encourage women but also provide them with opportunities to showcase their skills. Efforts are underway to ensure the participation of women from the province in international handicraft exhibitions.
She mentioned that, Under the arrangements of Department of Women’s Development many women have been trained in the province and are successfully running businesses through e-commerce, and new programs for women entrepreneurs will soon be introduced.
Dr. Buledi also revealed that there is a plan to utilize inactive government buildings as display centers for women to showcase their skills. The Department of Women’s Development is actively working on women’s welfare within its scope and available resources, and is collaborating with other departments for practical measures in this regard.
She assured the delegation that the Department of Women’s Development will continue to provide every possible support for women’s welfare.
