WAPDA high ups to be approached to increase sharing of water for supply from Hub dam

QUETTA: The Water Commission formed on the directives of Supreme Court was met with its chairman and caretaker Provincial Minister for Law and Prosecution, Amanullah Kanrani in the chair at Hub on Tuesday.
The concerned authorities and members of the Water Commission participated in the meeting. It was also attended by the Managing Director Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority, industrialists and other concerned officials were also in attendance.
The meeting decided to approach the WAPDA high ups for increase in the sharing of water for supply from Hub dam.
The Deputy Project Director of Winder dam, Abdul Jabbar Zehri informed the meeting that feasibility of water supply from Windar dam to Tehsil Windar.
The Irrigation department is providing water to Public Health Engineering and Irrigation industrial zone from Hub dam.
However, there is no capacity of storage of water due to silting issue, it was informed further.
Moreover, some industrial units located in urban areas are getting water from the Irrigation while the feasibility study of maintenance and expansion project of Lasbela canal is in final stages of completion.
