Vitamin “A” drops also to be administered Seven-day polio immunization campaign kicks off all over Balochistan today

QUETTA: The seven-day anti-polio campaign is scheduled to be kicked off in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan from today (Monday).
The Coordinator Emergency Operation Center (EOC), Syed Zahid Shah informed that necessary arrangements have been made for the immunization campaign.
According to him, over 2.44 million children below vie years of age would be administered the anti-polio vaccine. However, the children would also be administered the Vitamin “A” drops, the EOC coordinator informed.
He said that around 10,000 polio teams including mobile, fixe sites and transit point teams would be taking part in the immunization campaign all over the province.
The EOC Coordinator mentioned that no fresh case of polio has been reported since January 27, 2021 in the province.
The last case of polio had been reported from Killa Abdullah district, Syed Zahid Shah informed.
He said that the role of parents, religious leaders, political and social circles, tribal elders, administration and media is very important in the fight against polio.
He said that the polio immunization campaign be made successful with their cooperation and positive approach.
