Gwadar, July 28, 2024
A massive protest, known as the Baloch Rights March, was held in Gwadar, Balochistan, with thousands of people participating. The protest turned violent when security forces opened fire, resulting in the death of at least three people and injuring several others, including a child.
According to reports, the Baloch Unity Committee had organized the protest on July 28, which was attended by thousands of men and women from across Balochistan, including from Koh-e-Suleman, Nasirabad, and Karachi. The protesters had gathered on the famous Marine Drive in Gwadar, but were met with resistance from security forces at various checkpoints.
The security forces had set up barricades at the Pasni Zero Point and Talar Check Post, preventing protesters from reaching the venue. Mobile phone services and internet connectivity were also suspended in the entire Makran Division.
The violent clash between the forces and protesters has raised concerns about human rights violations in the region. The Baloch Rights March was organized to demand rights and justice for the Baloch people.
