The District Headquarters Hospital in Turbat, situated within the city, has received special attention from the Government of Balochistan. With its modern medical facilities and daily OPD services, it is renowned as the second-largest hospital in Balochistan. Approximately 2,000 patients receive treatment here daily.
Patients from neighboring districts, including Panjgur, Gwadar, Awaran, and even Iran, seek medical care at this hospital.
The Government of Balochistan has taken special measures to equip the District Headquarters Hospital with modern medical facilities. Advanced medical equipment, including dialysis machines, has been installed. Previously, kidney patients had to travel to Karachi or Quetta for treatment, but now they can receive it in Turbat.
Other facilities include ultrasound, X-ray, and advanced machinery for diagnosing and treating various diseases.
The government has also provided modern buildings and residential facilities for patients and their attendants, ensuring a comfortable environment. The hospital features spacious wards and well-equipped rooms.
Separate waiting areas and canteen facilities have been established for attendants, making their experience more convenient.
A dedicated gynecology ward has been established for women, providing comprehensive care during pregnancy and childbirth. Expert female doctors oversee the health and well-being of expectant mothers.
A special care unit for newborns is also available, ensuring their health and well-being.
Recently, the District Headquarters Hospital was upgraded to a teaching hospital, promoting medical education at the local level. Students from the Makran Medical College now receive practical training here, utilizing advanced medical equipment.
The Government of Balochistan is working to improve healthcare facilities in rural areas. Basic Health Units (BHUs) and medical camps are being activated to provide essential healthcare services to rural residents.
Several projects are underway to further enhance the hospital’s facilities. The government has allocated funds for additional advanced medical equipment and hospital expansion.
New specialized departments, including cancer, cardiology, and liver disease treatment, are planned.
