Transport Union Stages Wheel Jam Strike in Mekhtar, Disrupting Traffic and Coal Loading Correspendent

The Transport Union staged a wheel jam strike in Mekhtar, bringing traffic to a standstill on the Loralai-DG Khan highway. The strike, triggered by the burning of trucks, has resulted in:

– Long queues of passenger and cargo vehicles
– Suspension of coal loading for the past three days
– No coal loading from Chamaling, Harnai, and Shahrig for Punjab for three consecutive days
– Indefinite continuation of coal loading ban
– Province-wide loading shutdown from November 16 if demands remain unmet

Union leader Raza Nasser vowed to continue protests until owners receive compensation.

The strike has severely impacted transportation and coal supply chains in the region.
