Tough security arrangements made for Ashura-e-Muharram procession in provincial metropolis today

QUETTA: Tough security measures have been adopted for the Ashura-e-Muharram procession being taken out in the provincial metropolis today (Wednesday).
The officials informed that over 5,000 personnels of law enforcement agencies mainly police have been deployed to ensure security of the procession in the metropolis. Besides, the Frontier Corps (FC) and Levies force would also remain deployed in different parts mainly on the route of procession and its surrounding areas.
The route of Ashura procession has already been sealed on Tuesday evening with the passages leading to it.
Similarly, the shops and business concerns located on route of the procession have also been sealed.
As per the schedule, the Ashura procession would start at around 08:30 AM today from the Rehmatullah chowk, Alamar road.
The procession would pass through Alamdar road, Bacha Khan chowk, Liaquat Bazara, Junction chowk, Prince Road, Safeer chowk, McCongy road, Saeed Ahmed road before its termination back at the Alamdar road.
The special passes have been issued to the personnels of law enforcement agencies deployed on Muharram security.
The entry to the procession route would be made through specific points. Except these points, entry of the people would not be allowed to the route.
In addition to this, the surveillance of Ashura procession would be caried out through CCTV cameras installed on the route and other areas of the metropolis
