TORKHAM BORDER REOPENS AFTER THREE-DAY CLOSURE

Khyber, August 15, The Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been reopened after a three-day closure. Pedestrian and trade activities have resumed, and the situation has returned to normal.

According to details, the border was closed on August 12 after a dispute between Pakistani and Afghan border forces over construction work in the Ghora Kari area. The dispute led to an exchange of fire between the two forces, resulting in the injury of two Pakistani soldiers. Local residents of Torkham had fled their homes due to fear, but after negotiations between the two countries, the situation returned to normal, and the residents returned to their homes.

The closure of the border had caused difficulties for travelers and cargo vehicles, but with the reopening, normal activities have resumed.
