Swat: Three persons, including two police personnel, were killed in the firing by unknown persons in the main city of Swat, Mingora.
According to police sources, three unidentified armed men opened fire on two policemen near Mingora vegetable market, as a result of which police constables Umara Khan and Ashraf were killed on the spot. While Bank Security Guard Musa Khan was injured and shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to police sources, both policemen were posted at Mingora police station.
According to SP Farman Khan, the accused fled after the incident and a search operation has been started to arrest them.
“Blockades have been imposed on the entry and exit routes of Swat and soon the accused will be caught by the police. This is an incident of terrorism and the terrorists will be arrested soon.” He added
On the other hand, the relatives of the martyred police blocked Saidu Sharif road and protested. The protesters kept the bodies on the road and raised slogans against the incident.
The protesters said that they had no enmity with anyone, so the police should present the accused and arrest them immediately, bringing the facts before the people. Later, after talks with SP Farman Khan, DSP Attaullah, DSP Amjad, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Sohail Khan, the protest ended.
The funeral prayers of the martyred police personnel in the Mingora firing incident were performed at Kabal Police Line in which six brigade commander Sajid Akbar, DIG Malakand Nasir Mehmood Sati, DPO Swat Shafiullah Gandapur and political and social personalities participated.
Following the firing incident in Mingora, Swat Bar Association and High Court Mingora Bench Bar Association have announced a strike, both bar associations will boycott the court proceedings on Friday while also registering a protest against the incident.
Regarding the Mingora shooting incident, the banned organization has also accepted responsibility for the incident, in the viral statement on social media, it has been said that our colleagues were killed in Banjot, for which we have taken revenge.
