Lahore (PR): The US has absolutely no right to meddle in the internal affairs of Pakistan. This was said by the Ameer of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Shujauddin Shaikh, in a statement. He said that the resolution passed in the American Congress relating to the political affairs of Pakistan demanding an investigation into alleged rigging in the general elections of February 2024 is condemnable and a nefarious attempt to pressurize Pakistan. 75 years of history is witness to the fact that the US has always brewed conspiracies against Pakistan for its own benefit and purpose. Moreover, how does the very US that fully backs Israeli oppression and brutality in Gaza preach reformation in other countries. The Ameer said that there is no doubt that there were significant irregularities in the general elections held in February 2024. Events which took place before and after the elections placed a huge question mark on the impartiality of state institutions and the transparency of the Election Commission. Appalling and regrettable examples of political oppression were set. The mystery of Forms 45 and 47 remains unsolved due to which the nation is still suffering from uncertainty while political and economic instability continues unabated. Nevertheless, reform in the election process and providing the rightfully demanded justice to the oppressed is solely the responsibility of Pakistan’s people and its institutions, and interference from any other country can in no way be tolerated. He said that the need of the hour is to avoid revenge politics. Political parties and all relevant stakeholders must resolve all state issues through mutual dialogue and negotiation, so that no foreign power is handed the opportunity to meddle in Pakistan’s internal affairs. We must swiftly decide that no foreign powers will be allowed to dish dictation in any matter whatsoever.
