The people of Landi Kotal, Khyber District, are facing prolonged and unannounced load shedding, causing great distress. A grand jirga (tribal council) was held at Haji Khan Building, presided over by Shah Rukhman Shinwari, and attended by people from various schools of thought. The jirga gave TESCO ( Tribal Electric Supply Company) authorities a three-day deadline to resolve the issue, warning that if the power supply is not restored, they will besiege the grid station and take control of it to provide relief to the people. The jirga demanded that TESCO ensure six hours of electricity supply to all feeders, replace the entire staff at the grid station, and ensure fair and transparent power distribution, especially during the hot summer season. If the demands are not met, the jirga threatened to take further action.
