The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has completed a public hearing on the request filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) to determine the electricity purchase price for the fiscal year 2024-25. The hearing was chaired by NEPRA Chairman Waseem Mukhtar. CPPA has submitted a report to NEPRA, which includes seven proposals for the authority’s consideration. The report will be part of the tariff plan for the next fiscal year. The authority will make a decision on the matter, considering the impact on consumers and stakeholders. The federal government will also be informed about the authority’s decision on the electricity purchase price and the margin petitions of distribution companies (DISCOs).
