“Rawalakot, July 4, 2024 – The Minister of Information, Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, has announced that a police operation is underway to re-arrest escaped prisoners from the District Jail in Rawalakot. Two dangerous prisoners, Muhammad Usman and Faisal Azeem, who were involved in murder and terrorism cases, have been re-arrested during the operation. The government had announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for Muhammad Usman and Rs 30 lakh for Faisal Azeem. Two police officers were also injured during the operation. The minister assured that all possible resources are being utilized to re-arrest all escaped prisoners and their facilitators. Police teams are conducting raids in the entire Poonch region to apprehend the fugitives. The government has also announced a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the escaped prisoners.”
