The Lindi Kotul Press Club in District Khyber has hosted a press conference where local leaders and politicians, including Shah Khalid, Malik Masal Khan, Murad Hussain Afridi, Zurbullah, and Najeeb Khawar, have demanded that the high authorities allow the import of small animals, goats, and sheep from Afghanistan through the Torkham border for sacrificial purposes. They stated that the import of sacrificial animals from Afghanistan has been banned for the past five years, resulting in a significant increase in prices in areas like Lindi Kotul, making it difficult for poor people to afford.
The tribal leaders and politicians have urged the government of Pakistan, border security officials, and customs officials to remove the obstacles in the way of importing goats and sheep. They emphasized the importance of trade on the border for the prosperity of the tribal people and urged that politics should not interfere with trade.
