The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has taken a significant step to provide relief to the lower and middle-income sections of society of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by reducing roti (bread) prices. Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, disclosed that the price for a 100-gram roti has been set at Rs. 15, while a 200-gram roti will be priced at Rs. 30.
Minister Toru emphasized the commitment of KP government to the welfare and relief of these vulnerable segments of society. “The reduction of Rs. 5 per roti is a proactive measure to combat inflation and extend relief to our citizens,” the minister remarked this in an official statement released from his office in Peshawar, on Monday.
Zahir Shah went on to highlight the provincial government’s comprehensive strategy to curb inflation, underscoring their dedication to safeguarding public interests. Minister Toru instructed district administrations and food department officials throughout the province to meticulously enforce the revised roti prices.
The Minister revealed that the decision was taken following consultations with KP Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur. Additionally, the Peshawar district administration has rolled out an official notification pertaining to the roti price reduction and the same would be by other district administrations across KP.
