The Embassy of China has donated 4 million rupees to the Karakoram International University (KIU) under the fourth phase of the Merit-Cum-Need Scholarship program.
Gilgit (PR): The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan has donated 4 million rupees to Karakoram International University (KIU) under the fourth phase of the Merit-Cum-Need Scholarship program. According to the Public Relations Department of KIU, Wang Shengji, the Political and Press Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, handed over a check for 40 lakh rupees for the Ambassador’s Merit-Cum-Need Scholarship to Dr. Faqeer Muhammad, Director of the China Study Center at KIU.
This scholarship will help students at KIU’s main campus and all three sub-campuses to pursue higher education and research with greater ease. Expressing gratitude for the donation, the Vice Chancellor of KIU, Professor Dr. Atta Ullah Shah, thanked the Chinese Embassy for its financial assistance and cooperation in the scholarship program. He described this support as a sign of deep friendship between Pakistan and China and a contribution to the promotion of education and research.
The Vice Chancellor added that the People’s Republic of China had previously collaborated with KIU to promote education and research, and expressed hope that this collaboration would continue to grow.
Receiving the scholarship check on behalf of KIU, Dr. Faqeer Muhammad, Director of the China Study Center, stated that this generous donation from the People’s Republic of China will enable the deserving students of Karakoram International University to pursue higher education and research.
