The budget meeting of D. C. L held for the year-25 2024

LARKANA : Last day, the budget meeting of District Council Larkana (DCL) was held under the chairmanship of chairman Ijaz Ahmed Laghari, in which he presented the budget for the next fiscal year 2024-25. According to the budget documents, the proposed income for the new financial year is estimated to be 01 billion 20 crore 74 lakh 78 thousand 482 rupees. While the total expenditure is likely to be 01 billion 20 crore 24 lakh 71 thousand 198 rupees, similarly, the budget has shown a budget of 50 lakh 07 thousand 284 rupees. In the budget of the new financial year, 59 crore 24 lakh 71 thousand 198 rupees have been reserved for non-developmental expenses. While 61 crore rupees have been earmarked for development expenditure. 40 crore 44 lakh 41 thousand 198 rupees have been reserved for salaries and pension, while 52 crore 47 lakh 12 thousand rupees have been reserved for the share of octroi district tax. While last year, 26 crore 90 lakh 80 thousand rupees were kept for office stationery, payment of bills, repair of vehicles and other expenses. 2 lakhs for taxation branch and 3 lakhs for engineering branch expenses. 15 lakh rupees have been earmarked for the welfare of the poor, dowry for girls, students, minorities, youth, transgender, disabled and 7 lakh 50 thousand rupees have been earmarked for government payments, pension gratuity of employees, electricity and telephone bills and other things. 01 crore 36 lakh 20 thousand rupees, 25 lakh for purchase of de-watering machines and pumping, 10 lakh for purchase of pipes and water cooler, 01 crore 50 lakh for purchase of loaders for cleaning in union councils, 12 crore for purchase of solar lights Crores, 17 lakhs will be reserved for the second machinery. 10 lakhs have been set aside for the repair of machines and furniture. 6 lakh 60 thousand rupees have been set aside for the purchase of medicines, mosquito sprays, maintenance of trees and planting of new plants. 61 crore rupees have been earmarked for the roads of the Union Councils, 10 crore rupees for the solar lights scheme in USS, 35 crore rupees schemes have been approved by the Sindh government for the RO plants, besides for the construction of the new building of the district council. PPP leadership has approved a budget of 20 crore rupees. Addressing the meeting, the district chairman further said that a survey of business activities has been started at the level of union councils after collecting their statistics of industrial establishments, business centers, hotels, wedding halls, cellars, petrol pumps, poultry farms, mobile towers, We will impose tax on malls, car wash shops, brick walls, from which the council will get a monthly income of 10 lakh rupees, which will be used for the welfare and improvement of UC people. Apart from this, it is proposed to set a minimum fee of Rs 50,000 for NOC of mobile towers and petrol pumps. The price of 10 shops of Al-Mustafa Shopping Center of District Council has been increased from 3 thousand rupees to 10 thousand rupees. The monthly value of the shops built in Ratodero has been increased from 2 thousand rupees to 26 thousand rupees, from which the district council will have an annual income of 11 lakh 28 thousand rupees. The 35 shops of the district council and the RO machine at Mirokhan Chowk are worth 4 lakh 84 thousand rupees. 28,000 rupees will be charged per shop. In the meeting, all the members raised their hands and approved the budget and praised the budget speeches. Speaking on this occasion, the Chairman said, “I am grateful to all of you. We have been given the responsibility of serving the people fully, which will be done in any case, while our resources are less and there are many problems that will also be solved and basic facilities in any case.” We will take efforts to reach the people, while some works are not in our domain, but we are doing them because we have taken a promise to serve the people. He said that very soon a new building of the district council will be constructed and this building will be handed over to the culture department because this building was built more than 100 years ago. He also said that RO plants and water supply schemes will be provided for fresh drinking water very soon so that the people do not face any kind of inconvenience. Along with this, cleaning loaders, fire fighting vehicles and 2 ambulances will also be taken to serve the poor humanity. However, wheelchairs were also given to special people. While taps, sewing machines will also be provided, he said, we are making a contingency plan to deal with possible rains so that no one gets inconvenienced. He also said that illegal occupation of council properties will be eliminated. Speaking on that occasion, Vice Chairman Asadullah Bhutto said that our resources are less, but we have made a good budget so that people’s problems can be solved. All of your input is included. All the members expressed their opinion in the meeting and said that Chairman Ijaz Ahmed Leghari has presented the budget very well. While the budget was unanimously passed by all the members with raised hands, in the meeting, the death of MPA Aziz Jatoi, Nadir khoso and others was also read and prayers were offered.
