On Friday the selected committee of the Chaman sit-in briefed the authorities and the participants of the sit-in on their return from Islamabad. Leaders of various political parties also addressed the sit-in.
Asghar Khan Achakzai addressed the protest demonstration and sit-in announced by the Pashtun Nationalist and Millat Pal political parties Awami National Party, Pashtun Khawa Milli Awami Party and National Democratic Movement and said that before the creation of Pakistan and till now after the creation of Pakistan Pashtun-Afghans have never taken passports and visas to meet each other instead of closing the paths of employment and development for the Pashtun-Afghan people the paths should be opened. If the demands of the sit-in are not accepted, the nationalist parties will be forced to intensify the protest. Addressing the sit-in Provincial President of Awami National Party Asghar Khan Achakzai further said that Awami National Party Pashtun-Khwa Milli Awami Party and National Democratic Movement have called for protests in the entire province against the unjust atrocities and treatment of Pashtun Afghans. and protest was held in all districts in this regard. Today we have come to express solidarity with the participants of the sit-in and want to make it clear to the policy makers that they should give up the anti-Pashtun-Afghan policy if the demands of the sit-in are not accepted and sit-in. If it suffers for a long time, we will be forced to adopt a strict protest plan of the nationalist parties together with the zealous Pashtuns. He said that new conspiracies are being made against the Pashtuns every day, our children are deprived of education health and other basic facilities, even the right to employment is being taken away and now it has been banned that the Pashtuns are Afghans who have not been from today for centuries. They have been sharing each other’s joys and sorrows freely in every period. They did not go with their passports and visas but they have been coming and going on ID cards and Tazkir. We should be told why they are being treated like this. They were talking about forty years of hospitality. It is being sent in unserviceable conditions۔
