Taliban Sign Billions-Dollar Deal with Uzbekistan Government

The Taliban government in Afghanistan, which has not been recognized by any country in the world, is making contacts with the whole world and signing investment agreements worth billions of dollars with various countries in different sectors.

The Taliban administration has signed major deals with China, Russia, Tajikistan, and India, and is now building the world’s longest canal to make the country self-sufficient in food production. In this context, they have signed another $2.5 billion trade and investment agreement with neighboring Uzbekistan.

According to the Taliban government, the agreement was reached during the visit of Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister to Kabul. The Uzbek Prime Minister was accompanied by ministers of investment, industry, and trade, and other high officials.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Uzbek Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov and Taliban Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar. After the agreement, Mullah Baradar’s office said that $1.4 billion would be invested in the energy sector, $800 million in the mining sector, and $300 million in the agricultural sector.
