President Asif Ali Zardari gave TV an interview to Chinese media on the 73rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. He emphasized the importance of strengthening people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and facilitating the movement of people. He acknowledged China’s economic success as a model for Pakistan and expressed hope for further collaboration in China’s development projects. He also mentioned the progress made at the Gwadar Port since the launch of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor 11 years ago and welcomed investors from around the world. Additionally, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One China principle and rejected any form of Taiwanese independence, reiterating that Taiwan is a part of China.
