STUDENT PROTEST ERUPTS AT SMBBMU OVER HOSTEL SAFETY CONCERNS

Larkana, August 17, Tensions ran high at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) as students staged a protest over safety concerns in the girls’ hostel. The demonstration was sparked by the presence of unauthorized individuals in the hostel, prompting students to demand improved security measures.

According to eyewitnesses, the situation escalated when police were called to the scene, leading to a scuffle between students and law enforcement. Authorities attempted to arrest several students, but the situation was eventually brought under control.

In response to the incident, a high-level investigation committee has been formed by the SSP Administration to probe the matter. University management acknowledged the concerns, stating that an unrelated person was spotted in the hostel, leading to the protests.

The incident has raised concerns about student safety and security on campus, with many calling for improved measures to protect students. The investigation committee is expected to submit its findings soon.
