Murre, Aug. 16: A high-level meeting was held at the Women Resource Center in Murre, attended by representatives from government and non-governmental organizations from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting aimed to discuss the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disability Empowerment Bill 2021.
The meeting was organized by the Women Resource Center under the Hamqadam Project and was attended by representatives from the Department of Law and Human Rights Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Department of Social Welfare, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women, National Commission for Human Rights Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Provincial Assembly, Members of the Provincial Assembly, and representatives of people with disabilities.
The meeting discussed the findings of a comprehensive research study conducted by the Department of Social Welfare on the said Act, with a focus on gender perspective and United Nations principles. Participants shared their suggestions and opinions on various clauses of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disability Empowerment Bill 2021 to ensure effective implementation.
The attendees reiterated their commitment to working together to ensure the effective implementation of the Bill.
