STAGNANT FLOODWATERS IN SHIKARPUR SPARK HEALTH FEARS

Shikarpur, August 21, 2024

By Adeel Ahmed Dil

Five days have passed since the rains, but the stagnant floodwaters in Shikarpur’s UC-7, Muhammad Ramzan Bhatti, have not been drained, raising concerns about the spread of diseases. The foul-smelling water has made it impossible for people to leave their homes, and children are unable to attend school.

Residents are taking matters into their own hands to drain the water, while the UC Chairman, Yasar Hajano, is accused of being absent and only focused on generating fake bills to embezzle funds. Protesters, including Ghulam Nabi Bhatti, Lal Muhammad Banglani, and Akhtar Ali, have recorded their dissent, demanding action against the chairman.

The situation has caused immense hardship for the locals, who are urging the authorities to take immediate action to address the issue.
