Lahore, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Committee Member Ahsan Shahid has emphasized the need for special planning for the country’s economic recovery and called for facilities to be provided to traders.
In a statement, Ahsan Shahid stated that rising inflation, increasing production costs, and unstable tax policies have caused difficulties for the business community. Moreover, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have limited growth potential due to a lack of access to affordable financial support. He said that simplifying the tax system and providing tax incentives for SMEs would help foster the growth of the business community.
He further stated that the government should collaborate with financial institutions to ensure easy access to financial assistance for SMEs and provide low-interest loans and business-friendly financial solutions.
He also emphasized the need to provide targeted incentives for export industries to boost foreign exchange reserves and improve the balance of payments. Investment in key infrastructure projects, he noted, would not only promote economic development but also improve business performance across various sectors.
Ahsan Shahid added that the government should collaborate with business organizations, including the Lahore Chamber, to align policy decisions with the actual business needs. He stressed that overcoming the economic crisis and putting the country on the path of development requires joint efforts.
