MIRPUR (independent AJK. Desk) – August 30, Despite severe rainfall, forms for the Social Protection Program initiated by the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir for the poor, helpless, orphans, widows, divorced women, disabled, and elderly individuals, as well as transgender persons, continued to be submitted at the Mirpur Social Welfare Office on Friday.
As of Thursday, 2492 individuals had submitted their forms along with required documents, while on Friday, despite the rain, more eligible men and women submitted their forms, bringing the total to 2962 in Mirpur district by August 30.
Those who submitted the forms praised the program as a boon for the poor and appreciated Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq’s efforts for the welfare of humanity. Some individuals appealed to the government to extend the deadline for form submission, as they had not yet obtained their domicile or disability cards, and others lacked the necessary basic documents, forcing them to make multiple trips during the rainfall.
