Six shops sealed, eight shopkeepers arrested as crackdown continues against profiteering in Quetta

QUETTA: At least six more shops were sealed while eight shopkeepers were arrested on the charges of profiteering and violation of the official rate list in different parts of the provincial metropolis the other day.
According to the local administration, the crackdown is continued against profiteering and violation of the official rate list in the metropolis.
The price control committee teams comprising the assistant commissioners and magistrates are heavily engaged in the campaign against profiteering all over the city.
The teams visited more than 400 shops and examined the rate list there.
During the course, six shops were sealed while eight shopkeepers were arrested on the charges of violation of official rate list.
Some 22 shopkeepers were also charged fine while 99 others were issued stern warning not to fleece the people.
The district administration has warned the shopkeepers not to violate the official price list, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
