Karachi, October 27,: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced the launch of the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, a crucial initiative for Karachi’s residents. This project, valued at 100 billion rupees, is being implemented in collaboration with the World Bank.
Key Features of the Project:
21 km Track. The Yellow Line BRT will span 21 kilometers.
New Bridge*: A new bridge is being constructed alongside the Jam Sadiq Bridge.
Public-Private Partnership*: Buses will operate under a public-private partnership model.
Electric Buses*: Memon expressed his desire to introduce electric buses on this route, discussing possibilities with the World Bank.
Completion Timeline*: Contractors have assured completion within 18 months, with the government aiming for earlier completion.
Memon shared these details after reviewing the project’s progress and speaking with media representatives. This initiative is expected to significantly improve Karachi’s transportation infrastructure.
