Sindh Research and Technology Showcase 2024: Bridging Industry and Academia for a Progressive Future

Karachi, :  Sindh HEC Research and Technology Showcase 2024 was held on at the Expo Center on Saturday, June 1 and proved to be a huge success.
This pivotal event was aimed at fostering robust linkages between the industry and the academia, aligning with modern technological advancements and industry needs.
Talented students from 45 public and private universities showcased 413 projects at the grand event. These projects included local, national, and internationally funded research and collaborative technologies which received tremendous appreciation from the industry representatives as well as the general public visiting the event in large number.
Chairperson Sindh HEC, Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi stated, “This showcase represents a significant milestone in our efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry. By promoting collaborative opportunities, we are paving the way for innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.”

Secretary Sindh HEC, Moinuddin Siddiqui said, “Our goal is to highlight the incredible potential among our youth and our universities and connect them with the industry leaders. This event is a testament to the power of collaboration in driving technological progress.”

The event was designed to establish the industry needs and priorities for startups while identifying mutual interest areas and collaboration opportunities. The idea was to encourage local businesses to adopt indigenous technologies and research which promoted import substitution industries by producing indigenous raw materials and technologies.

The Sindh HEC, always committed to facilitating the universities in Sindh, provided free stalls for them to showcase their products and technologies. They coordinated the display of industry-relevant research, commercialisable technologies, and startups from universities across Sindh.

The event featured  representatives of universities, industries, officials from Chambers of Commerce & Trade Bodies and Associations, Relevant Government Ministries, Foreign Delegates and Diplomats.

The Sindh Research and Technology Showcase 2024 showcased groundbreaking innovations and fostered collaborations that drive the future of industry and academia.
