Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the child marriages in Dadu, where 45 girls were married off in exchange for money. The CM has directed the Hyderabad Commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter and submit a report.
The CM has asked the commissioner to provide a detailed report on the social, economic, and legal reasons behind these child marriages. He has also asked the commissioner to investigate whether the girls were from flood-affected families and if so, what kind of assistance was provided to them.
The CM has also directed the commissioner to provide a detailed report on the current situation of the married girls and to make recommendations to address the issue.
This action by the CM is seen as a step towards addressing the issue of child marriages in the province, which is a violation of human rights and can have serious consequences for the girls involved.
