Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah Chairs Meeting on Development Schemes in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, Sept 19: Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah chaired a meeting to review the progress of development schemes in Hyderabad division, emphasizing the need for effective utilization of allocated funds.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Syed Khalid Hyder Shah, Secretary Finance, Secretary School Education, Secretary Planning and Development, and other senior officials.
Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah expressed concern over the slow pace of development schemes in Sindh, saying that the province has allocated Rs 950 billion for development projects.

During the meeting, officials briefed on the status of development projects in Hyderabad, Badin, Sujawal, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, and Tando Muhammad Khan.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to resolve issues related to fund release and ensure timely completion of projects, particularly those related to:

– Roads (232 schemes)
– Buildings (97 schemes)
– Education (25610 schemes)
– Healthcare (90 schemes)

He also emphasized the need for effective utilization of funds, citing examples of delayed projects, including a pumping station in Hyderabad that was stalled due to a mere Rs 2500 fund shortage.

The meeting concluded with directions to officials to:

– Ensure timely completion of projects
– Resolve fund release issues
– Enhance inter-departmental coordination
– Prioritize clean drinking water and education
