Quetta, August 27, Jamat-e-Islami Balochistan and the Central Association of Traders have announced a shutter down strike across Balochistan on August 28 to protest recent terrorist incidents, lawlessness, failure of law enforcement agencies, increase in electricity prices, taxes, inflation, and IPP agreements.
The strike will be observed by traders, laborers, students, shopkeepers, and all types of businesses. It will be a peaceful and collective strike to protest against looting, lawlessness, corruption, and to demand relief for the public in various sectors including electricity.
Jamat-e-Islami will continue its protest until the public gets relief. Lawyers, students, and teachers will also participate in the strike to demand their rights and protest against injustice. Additionally, the President of the Central Organization of Traders, Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry, said that the strike is being observed due to the failure of negotiations with the government on the trader-friendly scheme over the past month.
