Sheikhupura, July 29: Following the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the “Clean Punjab” program is successfully ongoing throughout the district. Assistant Commissioners, local government and community development, district council and municipal committee officials are actively engaged to make towns and villages clean. For this purpose, machinery and staff are fully mobilized across the district to provide the public with improved municipal services and to eliminate illegal encroachments. Monitoring is also being carried out to ensure the cleanliness of city roads, streets, and other public places.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waqar Ali Khan expressed these views while discussing the district-wide cleanliness efforts under the “Clean Punjab” campaign here today. He mentioned that the line departments have been instructed to intensify cleanliness efforts under their supervision and to address public complaints promptly. Significant improvements in cleanliness have been observed in urban and rural areas due to the program, he noted. Parks, green belts and intersections are looking lush and green, while municipal committee staff continues regular maintenance of sewer lines, water disposals and covering of manholes, he added.
The top priority of the district administration is to provide a clean environment to the public under the “Clean Punjab” program, concluded the DC.
