QUETTA: The senior politician belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail was sworn in as the 24th Governor Balochistan here at a simple but impressive ceremony on Monday.
The Chief Justice Balochistan High Court, Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar administered oath to the new Governor, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail at the ceremony held at lush green lawns of the Governor House.
The outgoing Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar, Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly, Ms. Ghazala Gola, provincial ministers, senators, members of provincial assembly, judges of High Court, political leaders from PML-N, PPP and other parties and senior provincial high ups participated in the oath taking ceremony.
Soon after the oath taking, the Chief Justice High Court, former Governor, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, Chief Minister and other participants greeted Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail on becoming Governor.
Meanwhile, while speaking to the media persons after oath taking, the new Governor said that he would play the role of bridge between the province and federation over the issues and relations.
He said that he would take up the issues of Balochistan with the federal government, and try to got them resolved.
He said that the law and order is number one priority in the province, and as such efforts would be made to improve it.
He said that his relations would be excellent with the provincial government.
To a query about fencing in Gwadar, Mr. Mandokhail responded that he can’t make comment on the matter without looking into it.
He said that he has always fought the case of Balochistan, and would stand with it.
He said that he has experience of 35 years of different ministries, what he feels is that there’s room of improvement in the public affairs.
