QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Education, Miss Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani has regretfully pointed out that the brain drain is emerging a major issue in the country including Balochistan as many of our experts, scholars, doctors and teachers are leaving the country or want to leave.
She said that there’s a gap in our system that there is a brain drain of our people from the country. This gap has to be filled in order to put an end to the trend of brain drain.
The Minister Education said that our education system needs a lot of improvement. We need to improve the standard of our teachers and enhance their capacities. We would also be needing a big team for bringing improvement in education sector.
Miss Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani was speaking at the special session on education arranged in the Pakistan Literature Festival here at the Balochistan Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) on Thursday.
The eminent scholars, intellectuals and experts from different parts of the country including Pirzada Qasim, Ghazi Salahuddin, Sadiqa Salahuddin, Dr. Quratul Ain Bakhtiari, Mazhar Abbas and others participated in the session.
Speaking on the occasion, the Provincial Minister for Education said that no improvement has been marked in Balochistan during last 75 years.
She pointed out that we could not utilize our resources and funds for improving the education sector in the province.
She said that the are a lot of problems in the education system, for instance, right persons are not working at the right place.
She said that every province knows better it’s problem, so one has to take decisions at it’s own.
She said that we definitely need guidance of the federation to put things on right track.
Miss Rahila Hameed Durrani said that education is a challenging ministry and there a lot of expectations of the people, but no one is ready to play one’s part.
She stressed that everyone has to fulfil one’s responsibility to bring improvement so as to resolve the issues.
Referring the issues in education system, the Minister Education regretfully pointed out that the cheating is major issue in the examinations. She said the exam centers are also sold in this regard, which is a big concern for her. She emphasized upon changing mindset of the people mainly students, parents and teachers in this regard.
