Security & transport plan being prepared in Balochistan

QUETTA: The caretaker government of Balochistan would extend wholehearted cooperation to the Election Commission of Pakistan for conducting general elections in the province peacefully.
He said that all facilities would be provided to ECP for peaceful and transparent elections in the province. The security and transport plan is being prepared for the elections.
These assurances were made by the Chief Secretary while speaking to the Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Ejaz Anwar Chohan who called on him here on Monday.
During the course of meeting, the matters about the upcoming elections including security and other arrangements were discussed in detail.
Also present in the meeting were Additional Chief Secretary Home, Zahid Saleem and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary, Salman Chaudhary were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary said that all arrangements have been finalized for peaceful conducting of the elections in Balochistan.
The Provincial Election Commissioner said that all preparations are complete for the general elections on February 8, 2024.
He said that installation of CCTV cameras would be ensured at the polling stations.
He mentioned that the process of training of district returning officers and returning officers is continued. However, he stressed the need to ensure availability of all basic facilities at the polling stations.
He also stressed the need to ensure early maintenance and repair of the polling stations affected due to the general elections.
