Quetta, August 18: Secretary Communications and Works, Government of Balochistan, Lal Jan Jafer, has directed all staff of the department to remain on high alert due to recent rains in the province.
The Secretary has instructed all officers and staff, along with machinery, to be prepared 24/7 to deal with emergency situations. He has emphasized the need to restore contact roads in view of the emergency situation.
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, there is a possibility of heavy and stormy rains in the districts of Khuzdar and Nasirabad. The Chief Engineers of the three zones and District Engineers have been directed to remain alert with their staff and machinery.
The Secretary has directed that the restoration work should continue uninterrupted. The staff of the Communications and Works Department will participate in relief efforts in collaboration with the district administration and PDMA rescue operation teams.
This move is seen as a proactive step by the government to address the potential impact of the rains and ensure the safety of citizens.
