Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khwaja, emphasized the importance of utilizing all resources to provide a safe and healthy future for future generations. He stated that administering two drops of polio vaccine to children under five years of age can prevent lifelong disability. He made these comments while addressing a meeting to review the arrangements for the anti-polio campaign running from September 9 to 15, 2024. The Deputy Commissioner directed health department officials and UC MO’s to ensure effective monitoring of the anti-polio campaign and warned that there would be no leniency towards any negligent staff. He praised UC MO Govind Ram for his excellent work and urged other MOs to follow his example. During the briefing, District Health Officer Dr. Dolat Jamali mentioned that all arrangements for the success of the polio campaign have been completed. A total of 1,327 teams have been formed to administer polio drops to children under five years of age, and these teams will visit homes to vaccinate the children. The meeting was attended by all Assistant Commissioners, Additional Director Local Government Jamshed Qaim Khani, Population Officer Asghar Arain, health department officials, and other relevant officers.
