Sakrand:Oct. 08. Assistant Commissioner Sakrand, Ramiz Raja, along with revenue staff, conducted raids on various brick kilns following public complaints of artificially inflated prices.
The raids were carried out after receiving complaints that brick kiln owners were selling bricks at exorbitant prices, ranging from Rs. 38,000 to Rs. 40,000 per truckload, contrary to the officially fixed rate of Rs. 25,000 for 3,000 bricks, as set by Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad.
Talking to media, Assistant Commissioner Ramiz Raja said, “Brick kiln owners are arbitrarily setting prices and exploiting people. We received numerous complaints, prompting today’s action. If they continue to flout the rules, strict action will be taken.”
The raids resulted in warnings and fines for several brick kiln owners, with directions to adhere to the official price.
This crackdown aims to protect consumers and ensure fair pricing in the region.
