SAEED GHANI SAYS ARMY SOLDIERS ALWAYS WILLING TO LAY DOWN THEIR LIVES TO PROTECT PAKISTAN’S FRONTIERS

karachi: 06 Sep: Sindh Local Government Minister, Saeed Ghani, has said that showing opposition to the entire military institution is tantamount to supporting the terrorists who have been fighting with the Pakistani armed forces. The Local Government Minister stated this in his speech at a programme conducted by the Sindh government’s Information Department on Friday to mark the Defence Day of Pakistan. Ghani said that it was high time to get rid of the mentality in the country showing sentiments against the Pakistani armed forces.

Ghani told the audience at the programme that the role of Pakistani armed forces was mainly confined to safeguarding Pakistan’s frontiers from enemies until terrorism had been unleashed to threaten the internal security of Pakistan. He praised the role of Pakistani armed forces, rangers, and police in combating terrorism perpetrated by the enemies of Pakistan based in another country. The Local Government Minister said he personally believed that the army should not interfere in politics, but an entire institution couldn’t be blamed for the bad conduct of any specific person. He said that hundreds of thousands of soldiers were ready to lay down their lives to protect Pakistani frontiers. He opined that the terrorists who had been fighting against army soldiers became the main beneficiaries of the criticism directed against the Pakistani armed forces. He said that martyrs in the armed forces should be given respect and honour. He urged the audience to protect the Pakistani armed forces by befittingly responding to the criticism directed at the military institutions.

The Local Government Minister said the personnel of the armed forces, police, and paramilitary forces were always ready to lay down their lives in the line of duty. He said the unscrupulous elements who had been attempting to render the military institutions controversial had been doing no service to Pakistan and its compatriots; instead, they had been serving the interests of anti-Pakistan forces. “Everyone should honour our martyrs, as this respect encourages our soldiers to always remain ready to sacrifice their lives while safeguarding the country,” he said. He said that terrorism could only be eliminated from Pakistan after strengthening the military and state institutions. He said the armed forces protect the country from enemies and terrorism.
