QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated it is a fact that there is a key role of able and brave officers for good governance.
He said that as a public representative, he has experience of 30/35 years of working with the bureaucracy. During this long period, he learnt a lot from them, and surely, they would also have to learn from us.
Similarly, the officers also learn from each others experience and knowledge. He observed that if a Deputy Commissioner is strong then the whole district can be stronger.
The Governor expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of under trainee officers of 40th Mid-career Course here on Monday.
The Director General National Institute of Management Quetta, Anis Arif and Principal Secretary to Governor, Muhammad Hashim Khan Ghilzai were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor said that we have closely observed the honesty, ability, hard work and affection of the honest and able officers with people of the province.
He said that Balochistan has unique status than other provinces in many ways. Our traditions and values offer one another to move ahead together, he added.
Jaffar Mandokhail pointed out that our population is also least than other provinces and if officers deputed here play role of public servants instead of their lord, and keep their doors open for common men, then not only the public issues would be resolved easily, but governance would also be improved.
He said that the mid career management course would not only help the officers learn a lot but this is also in interest of the province and country.
He said that the officers are not common people rather they reach this position after passing the tough competitive examinations like CSS and PCS.
The Governor urged the officers to follow the rules and laws while performing their duties. The officers must not accept pressure of anyone.
He said that being bureaucract, the personal character and capability of the officers is also important besides their knowledge and wisdom.
In the end, the Governor distributed certificates and commemorative shields among the organizers and trainee officers.
