Resolution adopted in BA sitting about waiving off arrears of electricity by declaring Balochistan calamity hit

QUETTA: A resolution was adopted in the session of Balochistan Assembly about waiving off the arrears of electricity by declaring the province calamity hit.
The session was held with the Speaker, Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai in the chair on Friday afternoon.
The Member Provincial Assembly, Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch tabled the resolution.
While interacting with the presenter of resolution, Speaker said that the provincial assembly should be declared as calamity hit.
Speaking on the occasion, the Provincial Minister for PHE, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran said that the issue of electricity is being confronted in the whole province.
The Member Provincial Assembly, Ms. Farah Azeem Shah said that we are weeping on the issues of electricity and Sui gas while the world is developing fast.
She said that we would not make payment of the capacity of IPPs just because the poor people can’t pay the amount due to poverty.
The Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani stressed that the issue of electricity load shedding should be resolved in the province.
He also pleaded to call the General Manager Sui Southern Gas Company on the issue of Sui gas.
The parliamentary secretary Barkat Rind pointed out that only 15
Megawatt electricity is being provided to Makran from Iran. He emphasized that the Iranian government may be approached for supply of 200 Megawatt electricity.
Earlier, on the point of order, the Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Mir Ali Madad Jatak said that there is an issue of Sui gas load shedding in Sariab area. He urged the chair to call upon the GM SSGC in the chamber on the issue of gas.
