This prestigious recognition places her among the elite cadre of International pioneers and game changers in the field of law.

The International Justitia Women in Law Awards, a globally acclaimed platform celebrating exceptional women in the legal profession, have chosen Mehwish Kakakhel as one of the privileged 18 women from around the world shortlisted across three distinct categories. In the highly coveted “International Game Changers” category, Mehwish Kakakhel is amongst an exclusive group of five women from across the globe.

Mehwish Muhib Kakakhel’s illustrious career spans eight years in the legal field. With an academic background featuring a Master’s in Computer Sciences and an LLM in Cyber Crimes, she stands as the foremost and solitary cyber crimes legal expert in Pakistan.

Mehwish Kakakhel has shattered glass ceilings by becoming the first and only female Partner in a law firm within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Her commitment to justice extends to her advocacy for public interest litigations, including her successful endeavor to appoint a provincial ombudsperson for women facing workplace harassment.

During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mehwish Kakakhel displayed remarkable foresight by proposing the establishment of e-courts in Pakistan. Her vision, presented to the Chief Justice of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan, was eventually incorporated into the KP Epidemic Act 2021.

As a legal educator and advocate, Mehwish Kakakhel conducts regular training and awareness sessions on legal issues, imparting knowledge to women and individuals from various departments.
