RAMESH SINGH ARORA’S DETERMINATION TO PROVIDE BETTER FACILITIES TO SIKH PILGRIMS

Provincial Minister for Religious Minority Affairs / Pradhan Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora chaired the coordination committee meeting in connection with the organization of “Vaisakhi Mela and 325th Khalsa Birth Day” events in the month of April in the committee room of ETPB on Thursday. During the meeting, Additional Secretary Shrines Rana Shahid Saleem, while giving a briefing regarding the Vaisakhi Mela 2024 and Khalsa Janm Day celebrations, said that under the Pakistan and India, visas can be issued to 3000 Indian citizens to participate in the Vaisakhi Mela. While the government of Pakistan has approved the schedule for holding Vaisakhi Mela celebrations, the pilgrims will reach Pakistan via Wahga check post on April 13. Pilgrims will be provided free accommodation, food, medical facilities in Pakistan while foolproof security arrangements are being ensured. Sardar Ramishan Singh Arora Head of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Bandhak Committee and Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramishan Singh Arora, while stressing on the high level of arrangements including security, directed that the guests from all over the world, including India, should be treated with the best hospitality and the pilgrims should be given security, transport, medical and accommodation facilities should be ensured. Ramesh Singh Arora clarified that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given orders for the best arrangements for the pilgrims. The government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) has for the first time in the country’s history included the Sikh community in the provincial cabinet and sent a message that they are setting priorities for the welfare and development of the country’s minorities and making them useful citizens of the society. He further said that all federal, provincial and district institutions are on the same page, it is our duty to serve the guests, and we will fulfill our duty wholeheartedly. Secretary Board Farid Iqbal, Additional Secretary Shrines Rana Shahid Saleem, Additional Secretary Admin Sanaullah Khan, Deputy Secretary Shrines Nadeem Dhariju, Deputy Secretary Admin PMU Kartarpur Saifullah Khokhar, Board spokesperson Amir Hussain Hashmi along with Pakistan Railways, Punjab Rangers, Representatives of ASF, PID, Immigration, Customs, Police Force Special Branch, IB and representatives of ETPB attended the meeting.
