QUETTA: The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has launched operation for recovery of arrears of the electricity from defaulters in the province.
According to the spokesman of QESCO, the operation has been launched for recovery of the arrears from the government and private institutions, which run in billions of rupees.
He mentioned that the arrears of QESCO against the defaulters have reached Rs. 633 billion in the province.
Out of the total arrears, the amount of Rs. 483.56 billion are outstanding against the agriculture consumers of the province.
Besides, the government of Balochistan has to pay Rs. 51.48 billion on account of the subsidy on agriculture, the spokesman of QESCO informed.
Similarly, the federal government has to pay Rs. 22.55 billion on account of the agricultural subsidy.
Besides, the arears of Rs. 37.79 billion are outstanding against the provincial government and its subordinate departments while the arrears of Rs. 2.48 billion are payable against the federal government and its subordinate departments in Balochistan.
Moreover, the dues of Rs. 35.15 billion are outstanding against the domestic, commercial and other consumers in the province.
The QESCO spokesman said that the notices are being issued to the defaulters for payment of arrears.
