Punjab Senior Minister Maima Aurangzeb Slams Opponents for Seeking NRO

LAHORE, SEPTEMBER 8

Independent desk.
Punjab Senior Minister Maima Aurangzeb has lashed out at opponents seeking relief under the new NAB law, saying that those who conspire against the state will not be spared.

Aurangzeb criticized the first applicant seeking relief under the new law, calling them a “hypocrite” for seeking NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) after accusing others of being corrupt.

The minister questioned why those who had been accusing others of corruption were now seeking relief themselves. She labeled the new NAB law as “thieves’ law” and accused opponents of trying to escape accountability.

Aurangzeb defended the government’s stance, saying that those who had faced allegations and proven innocent in courts did not seek NRO. She accused opponents of trying to evade justice and said that the government would not let them off the hook.
